Senpai, I have some important information for you from my shinki, Ginia.
You may remember I mentioned a cult that's been causing trouble. I now have more concrete information that puts us in a serious spot. Ginia knew more than I did, and she's done some things that'd be pretty serious if heaven knew about them.
First of all, the cult wants to overthrow the heavens, and place their own gods in positions of power in their place. Their leader is a man named Imai Takeru, and they want gods that will specifically "fulfill their wishes. They have two gods under their control named Votelli, a forest god, and Sotero, a volcano god.
Sotero was the one who caused the damage in the western district.
But here's where it gets complicated. A few months back, there were gods and shinki who were kidnapped by the cult, and people were sent to investigate. Ginia met Votelli there, and... senpai, she's just a kid. They both are. They look like they can't be older than twelve. Ginia doesn't know where they came from but they're clearly being used by these bastards.
Ginia ended up setting up a shrine for her in the Near Shore under a different name. She's only fought Sotero in the past, but she's pretty confident the same circumstances apply to them.
If the top gods found out about this, it's pretty certain they'd execute her for it, on top of her having more than one God. I think this is pretty bullshit, even if I am annoyed I'm only finding out like this. But not only is the world in danger, so are two innocent kids - and on top of that, the gods in charge think they're the bigger threat than the cult. There was a meeting last night where Amaterasu declared they needed to be brought in, alive or dead, in fact.
Ginia has my support and she told me everything knowing I could easily release her and take this to a higher power. I also let her know I had absolutely no interest in hiding any of this from you or your shinki.
I'm sorry this is something you're having to find out so soon after being here. This is pretty dangerous. But... we're used to that, aren't we? Ginia also gave me addresses for some of the top members... they're all people that even heaven needs to be observed, but one of them, Ota Saburo, has a wife and two kids that need to be watched out for. I can send you all the pertinent information if you want.

Still, I would urge that you need to proceed with caution. Tying so close to this when neither of us has even been around here a month, it could be possible to blindly rush into even greater trouble without even realizing it.
Yeah, I know. Regardless of all the unknown factors, if we make a single misstep the heavens are gonna take punishment out on anyone associated with it.
Yes, and you have only just learned about any of this, from limited exposure to this place, and the people around you.
I am not saying don't trust what you have heard, or been told, or to not trust the people saying it.
But it is wise to be wary all the same, to a degree, when all of this is information being dropped in front of you all at once.
If there is one thing I have learned from S.O.N.G., or Division 2 before it, or anything related, it is that you can never let that guard down. Not completely.
I'm not, senpai. There's still a chance that Ginia is being tricked, or lied to. And I definitely think there's a lot of unknown factors, or even stuff the heavens aren't telling people. I'm going to be wary of all of that.
But I also got a sense of how she was feeling during that meeting. None of it made sense until she messaged me, but I still got a sense of her conviction.
I want to protect her, if nothing else. That may mean standing up to her on occasion or telling her she's wrong, I don't know yet. A god is responsible for their shinki, even if it means taking a stance they might not agree with.
Good, hearing you say all of that does relieve some fear, at least.
Still... this is a different sort of thing we're playing with, Yukine. An enemy that we can FIGHT, I have all the faith I can swing in and fight.
I know I can protect those important to me.
While I won't dismiss your ability to defend yourself, I would never, it still bears saying... Until I know these people here more, until I know what is going ON more, my greatest concerns are the likes of you or Elfnein.
That may well change. I expect many of the people here are much like us, and deserve that trust.
...but I don't know the extent of the power we're dealing with. How easy it would be to just be done with any of us should it be discovered people are working under the radar.
I don't know HOW to protect anyone here, be it you, or Elfnein, or anyone. Monsters like these ayakashi are one thing, but that does not seem to be the greatest danger.
Being that "sentinel" is the strongest thing I have to fall back on here, and that may not even be enough.
Quite honestly, that's terrifying.
So what I have left to fall back on is... I suppose, a certain level of paranoia. As long as I've been with S.O.N.G. through its various iterations, dealing with other countries, our secrets... I suppose I've picked up more than a few things there from Father or the Commander.
...I do not yet know how to even relate to my own shinki, but I suppose that will come in time.
I don't begrudge you any of that, senpai. You're still new here. Heck, technically, so am I, even if it feels like a lot longer now that I have my memories back.
Maybe I'm seeing too much of myself in this case. Ginia said something about kids being used, and I knew I couldn't turn my back on it.
But just know I'm gonna be trying to protect you too, senpai. We're in this together, same as always.

[Not to mention, if whatever brought them here has the power to make gods and shinki what they are, what's to say they don't have the power to easily unmake them? This is something that sits at the forefront of Tsubasa's mind.]
Do not mistake me, though. I know you'll do your best the same as I will to do that. I trust you in that.
